Yering Farm uses French Oak Barrels due to their tighter grain. This allows for more subtle oak influences on their handcrafted wines. Yering Farm use a range of different sized French Oak Barrels. The larger the oak barrel, the more subtle the oak character achieved as there is a smaller proportion of oak contact with a larger volume of Yering Farm wine
The rustic tasting room, a 100 year old resurrected hay shed beside the lambing nursery and orchard on the farm. Pull up a stool or lean on the worn wooden bar as you are treated to a presentation of boutique wines, all grown and made on site. This is where day trippers will want to spend time and feel at ease. Emphasis at this small estate takes inspiration from Burgundy, with Chardonnay and Pinot taking centre stage.
