Moorilla Estate

Through much of the history of Moorilla Estate, it was the most important winery in the state, if not in size but as the icon. Magnificently situated on a mini-isthmus reaching into the Derwent River, it has always been a must-visit for wine lovers and tourists.

There can be few cellar doors in Australia more tantalising than that of Moorilla, north of Hobart… On the first floor, you can see out over the grounds while you sample any of the 17 wines that Moorilla has available for sale. There are also eateries of varying levels of formality so you can enjoy the wines with food. Set aside a whole day for it and even that may not be enough.
