Probably one of the BEST and most authentic Taiwanese food in the entire flushing and chinatown area. The food is cheap and they hold true to what Taiwanese snacks and individual meals should be. Their stinky tofu is soo awesome! They make "Gua-bao"! It's a steamed bun filled with a juicy slice of pork belly along with some diced up veggies and crushed peanuts. It's a very traditional snack and it's commonly found in Taiwanese night markets.
Great place if you are looking for a quick bite and to go. Small place with capacity of about 20 seats. You have the option to order ahead of time and pickup as well. A great value and a cute spot with efficient courteous service. Highly recommended. Be sure to also get the banh mi fries on the side with your sandwich. MENU
Everyone here is friendly, there's a nice selection of Indonesian food, and there's a lovely ambience, with lots of beautiful artwork. Java is a neighborhood treasure. Absolutely fantastic. Get the 15 course tasting menu (Rijsttafel, about $38 ). Each course is so different and so yummy.
They have the best Hanianese Chicken dish here. It's a great spot to drop-in and get a quick/cheap lunch or dinner. The menu doesn't vary much from other Malaysian restaurants as they serve the usual appetizers (i.e. Roti Canai), rice dishes (i.e. Beef Rendeng, Hainanese Chicken, Spicy Thai Chicken, Young Chow Fried Rice, etc), noodles (i.e. Chow Funs, Rice Noodles, Noodle In Soup).
This is hands down the winner for Filipino food in the lower half of Manhattan. While it may seem slightly less polished in terms of ambience and plating as some of the other restaurants in the city, that's not what Grill 21 is about. The food is plentiful, delicious, and cheap. As a bonus, the menu is extensive. It's more of a mom and pop spot then a trendy NYC joint, but you can tell it's home cooked goodness. MENU
Entrees: Everyone goes for the Bi Bim Bop and I must say it is unmatched. The service is casual but friendly and accomodating. This place is a hidden gem! The food is very authentic with a few perfect modern touches. Definitely try the pork buns! MENU
A welcomed addition the the New York food cart scene, Fun Buns brings the goodness of Taiwanese buns to the Manhattan lunch scene. Their menu is simple: pork belly or spicy beef, both served with 5 spice, pickled mustard, crushed peanuts, and cilantro over a soft steamed bun. The meat itself is always well cooked - super tender and delicious! The buns are nice and soft steamed buns that are just awesome. Hours: Mon.- Fri, 11.00 am-2.00 pm
Good place for pho amd banh mi sandwich. Pho is great here. Bun is pretty good. Banh mi is so good (including the duck banh mi). Spring and summer rolls are awesome. Overall the place is a well oiled machine.Quick and friendly service and uber cheap! MENU
A hole in the wall tucked away on 45th Ave. in Elmhurst, Taste Good offers a classic take on Malaysian cuisine. Some of the best Malaysian food in NY. Haianese chicken- very tasty! Laksa very flavorful and very good. Super fast service.
This place is tiny. When you walk in, you feel like you've walked into a family restaurant on a busy street in Asia, you know those ones that look kinda dirty but locals all know serves the best food in the area? Food here is good, authentic, and so cheap. Nothing too heavy, and lots of great options for vegetarians
Nice little place for Filipino food. Food is great! Restaurant is adorable. There's a bar where you can order Philippine-made beers - you can even get a free appetizer of crispy pork belly with a bucket of beer. Krystal's Cafe is all about home style Filipino food. The food & service are always consistent. They simplify the menu for non Filipino eaters so you can really bring anyone here for a great experience.
Awesome Korean food! Nice and friendly environment! Come here if you want to eat some traditional Korean dishes. Got the seafood pot with noodles assorted shellfish noodles veggies and awesome amount of bon chon (side dishes). Best service! Great atmosphere, feels like home! They offer a variety of korean food from soon du bu to casseroles and kbbq! MENU
Awesome and affordable. Its not gourmet Sri Laken fusion so dont expect fancy dishes with fancy garnishes. This is a place for people who enjoy authentic, spicy, exotic food! The ingredients are fresh, the dishes & sides absolutely true to the culture.Friendly staff and awesome service. The fish curry is to die for.
Amazing food, cheap price, clean restrooms and average service. Tasty Taiwanese fare that tastes like it was imported straight from the Motherland. The restaurant itself is located in the basement of the Best Western Hotel near Flushing Mall. The dining area is spacious and even has a bar at the entrance. This place is a hidden gem. You want good Taiwanese food without the lines and hype and on the cheap this is the place.
The limited menu selection allows Bunker to consistently put out great food with fresh ingredients and bursts of flavors. Even the coffee tastes amazing! The seating might also be limited but the friendly and attentive staff makes it worth the wait. The food is delicious. Smaller portions then you'd normally get elsewhere, but that means you get to order more and share family style!
