They have a large variety of teas, kept fresh in tin containers (which is how your tea should be stored, in a cool, dry place). Unless you're a tea aficionado, ask the staffer there to help you in your purchase. If you don't know what you want, ask them to recommend something based on what you know you like..
David's tea is nice place to grab a cup to go as they offer different varieties of tea from green, black, and herbal. Particularly notable is tea-man Steve, who was kind and learned in the ways of tea. Also a great assortment of tea related accessories. And yes, their cupcakes are loaded with mounds of icinig if you're into that.
This is the best place to get your loose leaf tea in the city. They have a huge selection, a great staff and a lovely environment. Sniff away to your hearts content, or grab a cup to go.
In spite of its small size, Tsaa offers quite the variety of tea leaves. They have a great selection of green teas and their London Fog is one of the best in the city. Tsaa also sells food. Their sandwiches are delish (though a bit on the expensive side at around $6-7). They also sell gluten free chocolate desserts.
Majesteas is a lovely tea shop in Leslieville. You can pop in for a brewed cup, or buy a tin to gift to someone. It is a little expensive, but the tea is of really high quality. There are samples available so you can sniff them all before you choose. The staff lets you happily browse and smell the teas without bother.
Fahrenheit is like the bar Cheers except instead of serving booze the create some of the best tasting coffee in the city. Seriously, they win the NOW and Barista awards like every year. You can see these awards when you visit Fahrenheit.
Great coffee and nice sandwiches. The staff is super nice as well. Definitely an awkward space for a cafe but totally worth five stars.

Good coffee, friendly service and lots of seating to relax & enjoy your beverage. The cafe has a loft feel, lot's of large open wood tables - you never feel crowded like most of the large chains.
An amazing Americano in the PATH! Their coffee is consistently outstanding, the service is always friendly and prices are good. Lines can be quite long (and a little awkward since you're essentially in the middle of a busy hall) but it's a great place. Cash only/
The coffee and lattes here are pretty good (you're getting good crema and milk art). The reason to come here is the donuts. You need to try these donuts, they are wonderful. A dozen is only $4 and worth every penny.
This is the best chocolatier in Toronto! High quality, huge variety, always fresh - from the hot chocolate to the exquisite bonbons. It is a chocolate heaven! They make the chocolate products in house, and pack them at the counter too.
Each chocolate is hand made and filled with fillings they make themselves. They even make chocolate lollipops and cookie-cutter chocolates. They have chocolate boxes to hold the chocolates and best of all - ICE CREAM
Fantastic cafe and chocolate shop in a newly funky area if Toronto. This chocolate shop boasts drinking and eating chocolate as well as having yummy pastries to indulge in.
Stubbe chocolates creates some of the best chocolates by pairing good quality chocolate they create themselves in the back of the shop with both traditional and non-traditional flavours. Definitely a great place to buy gifts for someone with discerning tastes. The ability to mix and match your own boxes of truffles and pralines is a nice touch since you can tailor your selections.
