Tucked away in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles, there sits a tiny authentic piece of Denmark...Hygge Bakery. This little shop is nestled in a building of lofts on the corner of 11th and Hope. The staff is great. The baker who, without a doubt is a master at his trade Hygge Bakery is about as authentic as it gets to Danish baked goods. You know it's good and authentic with a Danish woman comes out with boxes and boxes of pastries, raving about how it feels like home and is better than pastries she gets in Denmark! Not only are the treats amazing, but the lady who works in the shop is very sweet and friendly! Really makes going to this place an all-around great experience.
Full of Scandinavian delicacies.They sell candy, breads, condiments, knick-knacks, decorations, coffee, crispbread and a whole lot more.There is also a good, additional selection of Swedish candies by Gotte Grisar ("Candy Pigs"!) that is sold by weight (you use scoops like at the bulk section). You don't have to be Scandinavian to enjoy their wide range of delicacies, beers, and wines. Gravlax and gevalia in the cutest cafe on pico with the most charming staff.
This a unique spot. If you've been wanting to take a trip to Europe but don't have the resources, come here and get away for a night! Excellent Scandinavian dishes. Food was beautifully presented with loads of color and perfect layout. Fantastic flavor an texture.
