For those who have never seen it, Kettners is a bit of an institution in Soho. Beautiful building, beautiful rooms and just generally beautiful place (even the bathrooms). The food is phenomenal. The coctails and the champagne are great, the ambiance great. A solid and well priced French restaurant, it's been on Upper Street for 30+ years for a reason - because it serves decent food at a great price. Every main dish is relatively cheap for French food which was just great because the quality is amazing!  The food is great, the meat is perfectly cooked and the fries are among the best.   Regular Menu Christmas Menu

This place is pretty great. A definite family feel with a great ring of authenticity throughout.  This restaurant does good, large pizzas and other Italian dishes to the accompaniment of loud and uplifting live piano music. The food is fabulous, including the olives and cheese whisked over to you as appetisers within moments of sitting down.

Good service, good food, great beer and an overall very swanky looking place. Late dinner or casual lunch, It is a safe value.  Not too expensive, always the same quality of food,  no bad surprises. Browns is the perfect place to enjoy good food in stylish surroundings. Christmas Menus Regular Menus

Rich menu with plenty of choice of starters, mains and desserts. Great, generous and fresh food is paired with a healthy selection of beers. This place leans far more to the gastropub range of the scale so if that's what you're looking for this is your place. Great place! Great food, great beer and awesome wait staff!  Highly recommend giving this place a try. They have a sunroof in the dining area and it really makes a difference in brightening up the typically dark and pubby atmosphere of... well, a pub. They have tons of options for beer too, even providing a free sample of available drafts if you can't make up your mind. Christmas Menu Regular Menu

This café dedicated to unusual bowls of cereal. Sure, there are healthy options, but the real fun's in its massive range of wacky neon-coloured foreign cereals and selection of toppings that includes peanut butter chips and freeze-dried marshmallows. Be warned, though, you may want to visit on a weekdays as queues can stretch round the corner on weekends. Unlimited peanut butter on toast. That's probably the most important thing about this hang-out space for artsy types (it calls itself 'a treehouse for grown-ups', rather than a café). Instead of paying for what you eat or drink, you're charged 5p a minute to be there, thus making you a 'micro tenant' who's free to use the facilities as you wish. There's a full kitchen with espresso machine, teas and other sweet snacks (did we mention the peanut butter and toast?), plus a selection of records to play and books to read. The fun, creative crowd it attracts make it a bit like hiring an Airbnb property that comes with its own supercool live-in buddies 

At this drop-in icing café, you buy one of the seasonal range of biscuits (say, flowers and hearts for springtime), the waiter or waitress quickly explains the basics of icing and then you're free to use the colourful range of sugary decorations to beautify your biscuit. Be warned, though: to leave you'll have to walk past the phenomenal range of chocolates, cakes and sweet treats upstairs in the beautiful neo-Parisian boutique. Good luck resisting buying the whole shop up.

Healthy and delicious, charming veg restaurant. Gluten free and vegan options, and reasonably priced. Cash Only. This is one of those little gems in central London that consistently serves great "home" style food at an affordable price. Yes the menu is small but it's always different and always awesome! A very unassuming restaurant tucked away in Covent Garden on Neal Street. The staff are friendly and patient. MENU

Otto pizzas are basically savory "American" toppings served on a cornmeal crust. The crust is crunchy and thicker than a lot of European pizzas. It's gritty and slightly sweet. A nice contrast to the savory toppings. The pizzas here are REALLY good! They're all cornmeal crust pizzas so they're gluten-free. Otto has a great selection of creative pizzas, and their concept of ordering one or two different slices is original. Their cornmeal crust is incredibly tasty and while fills you up, doesn't make you feel gross. You probably won't even need more than one or two slices! MENU

The small café is unique in featuring fresh handmade organic muffins absent of fillers. IA nice place for those with (and without) gluten intolerance to grab a treat and wander around the marketplace and/or watch those omnipresent street performers! Aside from the muffins, the coffe and tea are great. They boast about their frozen yoghurt and that too is good. 

This is a family run classic Italian joint. The food is always fresh, tasty, cooked to perfection and served with a BIG smile. They also cater for Gluten intolerance and Vegetarian diners. It's so hard to find good pizza and pasta that are gluten free. This place is amazing you will not know it is gluten free. A little corner of Italy in the heart of London.

The food served at Zucca is based on the traditional Italian kitchen. However, they adopt a progressive interpretation of this style without following food trends, but in turn maintaining a creative element which draws it's inspiration from all over the world. Vegetables are a main focus bringing a lightness and balance to the dining experience. They also pride themselves on their home-made bread and ice creams. They are part of the slow food movement.

Their varied menu includes their famous traditional thin crust Italian pizzas, pasta, seasonal daily specials, vegetarian and gluten free options. StringRays Highbury is one of those places you go to for one reason, and that's the pizza and the price (a.k.a. incredible value).First and foremost the pizza is good, not amazing but still very good. However, it's the small and 'cosy' restaurant and great atmosphere, coupled with the genuinely amazing prices and super friendly service which means this is always my default local restaurant! MENU
