Wildly popular, this pub seems to be always expanding, which means that there is plenty of seating around, although booking on Fridays and Saturdays in particular is probably a good idea. Really top place with an amazing menu. The interior, atmosphere as well as the food is amazing. Christmas menu Regular menu
As the name suggests, this eatery is small and friendly and on top of that serves up some great quality food! On offer were your normal hot and cold drink selections, alongside what looked like homemade cakes.
You'll be hard pushed to find a pub with a warmer welcome than what awaits you in The Clifden. Add to this the superb food, unique beers on tap and the most brilliantly quirky beer garden on offer and you have yourself one of the finest ways to spend an afternoon or evening.
The Meeting Place is as good as it's name and has a spacious interior which makes it a great place to meet friends. It's a little on the pricey side, I feel, but you are paying for a great location and a comfortable, quiet and welcoming space. If you ever decide to visit Cadbury World this would be an ideal place to take a break after the madness of the Chocolate Factory.
Opus is one of the best restaurants in Birmingham. Where Opus stands out is that they use fresh seasonal ingredients so if they happen to have an opportunity to buy something that morning, it will land on the menu by lunch time. This is a large spacious, light and airy restaurant that's been in Birmingham for 6 years now.
As well as the wider selection of beverages and snacks, the Tearooms at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery now offer: speciality cheese and wine platters; afternoon tea which can be booked in advance; boulangerie & patisserie table; and satisfying meals including slow cooked lamb shank and home-made soup. Edwardian Tea room certainly looks the part; it's spacious with large regal ceilings and huge ornate windows. Decorated beautifully, the tea room really does feel like you've stepped back in time.
If you like a pub with a mellow atmosphere, 70s funk and soul as your night's soundtrack and a dash of authenticity in the form of a Victorian inspired gin parlour then this is the place for you. Very nice interior, menu and selection of cocktails. The food is also worth mentioning. There are often deals on the lunches and in the evenings there are such deals as '2-4-1 fish and chips Christmas Menu Regular Menu

A favourite spot for lunch in the city centre. The coffee is good, the price is good, the food is amazing! It is popular at typical lunch times.
The seasonal menu changes regularly and on a Sunday you can pick up a three course Sunday roast (boldly claiming to have the best roast spuds in Birmingham. The service is top notch, as was the presentation of the food. This place is the definition of the word "smooth". It is easy to miss the unassuming entrance on Newhall Street, but once inside you will be transported to a sleek and chic world of mixology magic. Currently perhaps the best coffee shop in Brum, especially for those geeks who like to discuss the dull minutia of their coffee rather than just enjoy it (or not!). Great coffee, very good cake and pastries, and service from knowledgeable staff make it all very worth the extra (literal) two steps off New Street. Make it one of your regular haunts!

Great independent coffee shop, with lots of seating, free WiFi, fantastic breakfast/brunch menu, cakes & brownies all baked on the premises. A vast choice of different coffees and teas are available, plus huge piles of fresh cakes and baked goods which are made on site.
It's a great coffee shop, with a large communal table downstairs, and a few smaller tables for two, plus big comfy chairs and tables upstairs. They serve a selection of freshly made cakes, and some chilled bottled drinks and beers. Always something going on here! It's such a busy coffee shop, which reflects the quality of their products and service. There's a good choice of less conventional coffees too, along with an ever-changing selection of cakes.
