For the cake.
- 300 gr. flour
- 45 gr. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 100 gr. soft butter or margarine
- 1 cube of yeast
- a pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup raisens/sultanas (optional)
For the syrup.
- 550 gr. of water
- 250 gr. sugar
- 250 gr. dark rum
- zest of one unwaxed lemon

It is a sweet with average difficulty, but with long preparation times. So if you are going to prepare, equip yourself with a lot of patience and your efforts will be rewarded!

With the syrup, soak the baba several times while freshly baked and still warm. Use all the syrup and making sure to cover all the cake , especially the sides.
Serve as is, or to taste with whipped cream and strawberries.
