Baked chicken wings for a tasty snack


Yield 4 to 6 servings
Preparation time 20 mins + marinade (4 hrs or overnight)
Cooking time 40-50 mins
Main Ingredient Chicken


  • 1/2lb lb(1.1 kg)  chicken wings
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup 
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard 
  • 1/4 cup whole grain mustard ( a hot variety can be used for a more zesty flavour)
  • 2 tbsp cider vinegar 
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil 
  • 2 garlic cloves  finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 1/2 tsp pepper 


  1. Separate wings at joint, cut of tips
  2. Combine the maple syrup, mustards, vinegar, oil garlic pepper & salt; add the wings ensuring fully covered with the marinade
  3. Cover 7 refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight is best.
  4. Remove wings from marinade. Place a rack in a baking dish  and place wings on the rack without over lapping. Keep marinade
  5. Brush half the marinade over the wings and bake for 20 mins in fan forced oven at 180 C (360 F) or conventional 200 C( 390 F)
  6. Turn ribs over & repeat above with remaining marinade, careful not to burn. Wings are cooked if juices run clear when pierced.
  7. For a crispier wing, grill each side for approximately 1 minute 
  8.  Use dip of choice such as sweet chilli or Vietnamese or enjoy hot from oven
