Traditional Kiwi biscuits/cookies

Main Ingredient Rolled oats


125g (4 1/2 ounces) butter melted

1 cup flour 

1 cup rolled oats 

3/4 cup desiccated  coconut 

2 tablespoons golden syrup  warmed

1/2 teaspoon baking soda 

2 tablespoons boiling water 

1/2 cup sugar 


1 Preheat oven to 180 C (355 F)

2 In a bowl place the butter & golden syrup. Dissolve the baking powder in boiling water and add to the bowl

3 Mix in sugar, oats, coconut ,flour and mix well to combine

4 Line a baking tray with greased baking paper

5 Roll into balls, about golf ball sized and flatten with a fork allowing at least 5 cm  (2 inches)or more between each biscuit/cookie mix

6 Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown
