Basically this is your one stop shop for any Chinese groceries and cooking accessories in Chicago. There is a ton of different foods, always fresh, and good. This is a good place to go for veggies, hot pot meats, meatballs, and basically any other Chinese groceries that you need. They also have a butcher with lots of meat and a big selection of anything you can think of. Hong Kong Market has a good selection of frozen food especially dumplings. It also has a nice selection of noodles and Chinese spices and sauces.
The inventory is well-stocked and the aisles are neat. Excellent selection of Thai products: Soy sauces, shrimp paste, pickled veg. Good produce selection, for Southeast and Far East Asian cuisines. Nice selection of frozen seafood. The aisles are sorted (somewhat) by region and culture. They also have a great selection of fresh produce. This store is pretty clean, neat, and user-friendly. The people who work there are so nice and knowledgeable.
Fat Lee Supermarket is one of the newest markets located right outside of Chinatown.The place has its own parking lot that isn't busy and chaotic, customer friendly, huge place to shop for almost all my Chinese grocery needs as well as groceriesitems to make Vietnamese food . They have a nice butcher area and a good selection of fresh fish.Their selection on vegetables is very nice, well stocked and frozen section has fair prices on frozen dumplings and boas. You'll find all your typical asian stuff here - fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat and seafood from the butcher, large freezer section for your dumpling cravings, aisles of asian snacks, an assortment of ramen noodles,
They have a huge produce selection, as well as fresh fish and seafood. This place is the real deal. Excellent selection, pricing and quality. Friendly and always busy. They have a decent selection of basic Chinese / Vietnamese produce.You can find bittermelon, fuzzy gourd, bak choy, Chinese broccoli, lettuce, bean sprouts, (small and large) pea sprouts, cilantro, mint, basil, culantro, and other herbs used in Vietnamese cooking here. Fresh and well rounded. Great place when cooking oriental food. The choice of tofu is great as are the other condiments needed.
