A very nice Nepalese/Indian grocery/specialty item store. Right next to the excellent Himalayan Restaurant! Both highly recommended. It has a little bit of everything Nepalese. There are your typical groceries, Nepalese cuisine, several spices & seasonings. Then some of your typical household goods etc.
If you long for any authentic goods from The Netherlands, especially food-related, then the Holland Pastry Shop is for you. Don't let the word "pastry" throw you; this is more market than bakery. This shop occupies three store fronts. The main store, which resembles a mini-mart, is jammed packed with all sorts of Dutch and Indonesian goodies, The central store is where the activity occurs. Five stars for being the only fully-stocked-with-everything Filipino store on the Westside! This store stocks basically anything and everything you need to cook your favorite Filipino dishes. Great place with a great range. I highly recommend it.
They have a unique selection of exotic fruits straight from the Philippines, great produce, fantastic seafood/butcher/etc., all the asian/filipino goods you could ask for. You will be able to find Asian and American foods, too. The Pinoy standards of lumpia, swiss rolls, ube and fresh seafood is plentiful. You needed to make pancit...they had all the ingredients. Truly an aunthentic filipino food place with such friendly, generous and fast service. There's a small grocery store inside in case you need to do a little shopping. The butchers in the fish/meat section are friendly and will cut your meat the way you ask depending on what dish you plan to make.
They have all kinds of Filipino goodies and specialties on the aisles and in the freezer cases. They have an excellent selection of whole fish and other sea foods, It has everything that you need to prepare a good Filipino meal. The cool thing about this place is that the meat is always fresh. The meat butchers behind the counters will cut or slice your meats however way you ask them to.
This easily missed Filipino market deli is mix of fast food, slow food and soul food. Arko is a good place to get our cooking supplies, rice and other things need in the kitchen and house. It's a great grocery store to fulfill all your Filipino food needs, fresh fish needs, and prepared dinner needs. VISIT SITE
What a great place. It's very clean and neatly organized ; the staff are friendly and inviting; and they have a fun selection of Nordic foods, candies and gifts to splurge on. Nordic Deicacies is even better than back home in Norway. Very nice people and good food. Try their vaffler and boller. VISIT SITE
One of the last cute mom and pop delis left in the east village. This really nice older couple runs this store and have graced this block with an extraordinary selection of hand crafted Polish foods. The pierogies come pre-packaged and in numerous flavors. You do NOT need to be Polish to love this place! Give it a try if you're in the area (or even if you're not).
There's also a hefty Latin American section, with high concentrations of Peruvian and Mexican products. You want Italian? Corrado's Market has pasta brands you won't find in Stop and Shop, tubes upon tubes of pesto, tomato, and olive pastes,and they even sell canned wheat for pastiera di grano. VISIT SITE
