Old World Market on Broadway is African/Caribbean with a healthy pinch of Latin America. It's the go-to for an incredible array of authentic Jerk seasoning. Also Caribbean and African products, there's always something interesting and new to discover. Great selection of meat and produce too, and the price is CHEAP!
The perfect little neighborhood grocery store. Great selection of produce with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Shelves are stocked with tons of great Latin-American options, and there's a bakery in the back with fresh treats. There's a pretty decent beer selection and lots of cheap wine in the back too. There's a plethora of live seafood, meats, Asian, Caribbean and Mexican vegetables and other products.
Mitsuwa is awesome because you can get everything you want from Japan without actually going. Very authentic Japanese produce, products, housewares, make-up, snacks, and the hippo house bakery is amazing! The grocery store felt just like being in one of the large department store "food floors" in Tokyo, with nice produce and fresh foods. VISIT STORE
This has a great selection of meats and Middle Eastern foods. The staff is courteous, friendly, and their meat is always fresh.
They also have a small store next to the cafe in case you want to buy any Lithuanian groceries. Cafe Smilga includes a deli and carries many imported canned and jarred goods as well as bread and sweets.
This is a Lithuanian bakery/deli with some Polish pastries and dishes. Everything here is very good. Recommend getting/trying their hot dishes in the deli. Besides a wide variety of things baked in-house, they also have shelves of Polish/Lithuanian items and a deli counter as well.
Great grocery store. fantastic for the meat. It's always fresh and lean. It's also great to pick-up Mexican specialties. There is a surprisingly large selection of regular grocery items. On occasion the butcher won't speak English but someone is always around to translate.
The market part is standard mercado-style, with a great meat counter (pick up some pre-cooked carnitas by the pound, cheap!) and everything else you'd expect to find in a Mexican grocery store. But the real treasure is the taqueria inside. Cool little grocery store/taqueria with some major American brands, but also tons of Mexican made food products. They have an entire section devoted to tortillas. They have tomatillos.
They have a selected variety of mexican dishes, quesadillas, caldo de res, caldo de pollo, tortas, tacos, enchiladas, and fresh mexican specialty water, also fresh squeezed orange juice. The prices are also great and super affordable. They mainly carry Mexican items but you will also find American groceries.
