The food is cheap, fresh, and recommend the rye bread and poppy bread (a dessert actually). You must try their babkas! The cheese they use is not too sweet or too dry and the babka itself is soft. Very nice Greek deli with a wide array of different items. Especially around Easter the Vasilopitta is delicious.
This is a great family run grocery store - heavy on Asian items, good cheap produce, and butcher shop. They have all the ingredients and produce you'll need to make Asian meals including Malaysian, Indonesian, Vietnameseand Chinese dishes and more. This grocery warehouse market rocks have star fruit -jujubes, mangos-durian and hundreds of different types of canned fruit. Huge selection with incredible and hard to find vegetables and cuts of meat.
It's a Latino market, they carry a good amount of Latino products. You need sofrito in a jar, it's there. You need Goya stuff, it's there. You need lengua or carne asada, the butcher is there to get that for you. They carry veggies and fruit, not the best quality but it's good enough for any Latino. Oh and the diary products, fresh cheese, cojita and Mexican and Salvadoran creams are pretty cheap too!
Think Mexican market: fairly clean, butcher section, produce section, overall small market selection but will most likely have what you're looking for.. It's about the size of a 7-11. Bargain prices for produce & the best part is you can buy as little or as much as you want. This place is small, but if you are thinking about doing a carne asada, then this is a place to go and get your basic ingredients.
Inside it's part Mexican grocery, part restaurant with a few small tables to sit at. This Mexican food spot is very authentic, the place seems to be family owned and operated. The staff is friendly and nice. It does provide the opportunity to try different Mexican dishes. You can also find some classic Mexican groceries including sodas and spicy lollipops!
This spot serves as a little store, with Mexican merchandise including tortillas, beans, chiles and Mexican sodas. You will find everything you need here to make an authentic Mexican dinner. Tortillas, frijoles, queso blanco, cilantro and lots and lots of Goya products. This place is a godsend and has virtually everything you would need to create a true mexican feast.
This is the 'IT' mexican grocery store where you can get all your basics and then some. Sauces, peppers, chorizo, tomatillos, cactus, corn husks, random baked good, scary technicolor candies are all there. They even sell mexican dvds in the back and Jarritos drink in grapefruit flavor.
Himalayan Mini Mart is a corner store geared towards the sizable population of Nepalis in the area. As far as I know, this is the only place around where one can buy ingredients that are unique to Nepali cooking. This place has a fun selection of Nepali goods as well as Indian and East Asian.
