The International food is quite extense: Chorizo Espanol, Yerba Mate from Argentina, sweet potato preserve from Argentina, chimichurri sauce, cheese bread from Colombia, Dulce de Leche from Chile (yay), Harina Pan from Venezuela (to make arepas, which are corn meal patties and not to be confused with MAZA from Mexico),chocolates, cookies and coffee from Brazil. The Brits have it easy here as well. Lot of British products: cookies, chocolates, biscuits, waffles, tea, some drinks, VISIT SITE
This is no gourmet fancy schmancy place - it's your friendly, neighborhood Argentine delight shop. This place has the best argentinian empanadas en Houston! The best part is that they are baked and not fried! The chimichurri sauce is awesome!
Colorful supermarket with a lot of different hispanic products. The prices aren't the lowest, but you can find a lot of stuff you normally would not find in a regular supermarket. This store has everything that caters to the Hispanic community. This has a tortilleria ( fresh made corn tortillas), a fresh aquas (flavored water) stand, a taqueria/ grill and on the weekends barbacoa, carnitas, menudo and all that good stuff. They have a huge selection for fresh baked sweet bread and everything a normal grocery store has.
This is a great little hole In the wall for Central American/Salvadorian food. At first it can be a little off putting, it looks like a corner store once you walk in, but be brave and make your way to the right you'll see all the food being prepared.
Great for pupusas. For lack of a better explanation pupusas are El Salvador's version of a tamale and they come in a gluten free veggie version with beans and cheese. Good range of traditional groceries.
If you are of Hispanic, Asian or Middle Eastern descent, then this is the place to go. They have a large assortment of Honduran, Guatemalan, Salvadorean, and Central & South American groceries. They have designated a Deli, Fish Market, Butcher and Bakery (you can get fresh Tortillas!).
This place is an Ethiopian and regular grocery store. Very interesting grocery store. it's very small. It has barbre (ethiopian spicy chili powder) to make a dipping sauce for bread. they also sell njira (ethiopian bread).
The food is organized by country of origin - Russia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, Israel, Portugal, etc. This store is amazing, don't let its small size fool you. It carries an eclectic mix of foodstuffs from the former USSR as well as a wide array of Israeli brand products. They also have a wide array of wines and beers from not only Russia, but from eastern europe as well.. In addition, you can find imported spices, teas, coffees, smoked fish, breads, sausages, cheeses and frozen foods.
Such a great Indian grocery store! They had all the ingredients I couldn't find anywhere else in Houston! Also, the staff is super friendly and helpful. People are friendly, large selection of grocery. Bought Gulab Jaman and Masala Chai, yipee! I like the place. By the way, I am not Indian. Awesome selection of achar (they always have swad mango pickle available!!!!), shan masalas, and other generic seasonings. They sell a wide variety of authentic regional ingredients. Visit Site
The grocery store seems to have everything you need to venture into the exciting world of Indian cooking.
