With goods such as the delectable Argentine dulce de leche and meats and the hard-to-find Brazilian chocolates (including the sonho de balsas). This is a great place for a brazilian home cooked meal. It is not a full restaurant, it is a mix of a brazilian grocery store and restaurant. Small grocery store with a wall full of shelves, full of product. That's all good. But where Brasil Legal Cafe shines is with the food. There is a short menu. The dining area is tiny; about 5 small tables, surrounded by some shelves filled (maybe) with various imported Brazilian food items. Although the space was small, it was packed with snacks and juices and even a cooler with meat. VISIT SITE
This is medium sized latino/hispanic grocery store, you will find items mostly from Central America and a few from South America, specially Colombia. This small grocery store with a cafe in back has many Spanish, Cuban and South American items that are hard to find elsewhere on the Northside.
It is the place every Mexican and Puerto Rican worth their sea salt shops for produce, meat and spices. There is a great butcher shop at Cermak, wonderful spices, endless produce (with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables favored by the Puerto Rican/Mexican community), and all the usual dry goods you would expect to find at a decent supermercado.
