This cafe in picturesque Rushcutters Bay isn’t the fanciest by far, but it offers one of the best views of Sydney with a fantastic children’s playground within metres of the tables. Tables are outside so it’s not a good wet-weather venue, but the relaxed atmosphere and the ability to grab a good coffee and pastry while you watch the kids in the playground is a super-plus. There are a couple of high-chairs but there is loads of room to pull a pram up to the table. There is also a children’s menu
With a chook run, extensive kitchen gardens, children’s play area, weekend market and several indoor and outdoor eating areas, The Grounds is more city farm than cafe. But don’t let that stop you – just grab some takeaway instead and head to one the tables in their extensive grounds.
