They are the state’s oldest established vineyard and have developed a reputation of being amongst the best Tasmanian vineyards, selling quality wine at the right price. They produce premium quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Rosé and Riesling wines and sell a broad range of other Tasmanian wines, focussing on vintage medal winning wines. Wines and wine products range from $15.50 to $200. Providence produces annually about 300 dozen Chardonnay, 250 dozen Pinot Noir and 50 dozen Riesling.
Tasmanian wine styles are usually dry table wines with firm acidity that have excellent keeping qualities. Whilst the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are always subjected to ageing in French oak, wood is not the dominant feature of the finished wine. Whilst Pinot Noir is always put through a full malo-lactic fermentation the Chardonnay is not.
Cellar door is open seven days a week and closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
