Main Ridge Estate is ideal for producing cool climate wines. At an altitude of 230 metres, the vineyard is one of the highest on the Mornington Peninsula. The Estate is set on 4.8 hectares, with 3 hectares under vine. The rich volcanic soil and the deep-rooted mature vines ensure no irrigation is required. At Prancing Horse Estate they aim to achieve balanced wines with intense flavours and structure. Their imprint on the Australian and French wine landscapes has been achieved through an uncompromising approach using organic and biodynamic principles in our vineyards and in the winery. Throughout the winemaking process, Prancing Horse winemaker, Sergio Carlei oversees the gentlest biodynamic approach.

Established by the De Cicco family in 1987, present owners Cosi and Joe Melone now have 4ha each of chardonnay and pinot grigio, a little over 1ha of shiraz, pinot noir and merlot making up the remainder. . A feature of the the cellar door is the older vintages that are available.
