1.2 Kg (2 1/2 pounds) medium/large green prawns
1 medium onion sliced
200 grams (7-8 ounces) coconut cream
1 tsp medium chilli powder
1 tsp fresh ginger ground to paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1tbl onions ground to paste
1 cinnamon stick
4-6 green chillies
4 tbs oil
1 tsp sugar
salt to taste
1 Devein & clean prawns (leave heads & shells on for a richer flavour - optional)
2 Heat oil in frying pan, add onion, cinnamon & cloves. Cook onions until transparent.
3. Add rest of spices (except green chilli & sugar), 75 gms coconut cream ,1/2 cup water & prawns. Cook for 5-7 minutes under closed lid turning prawns at least once.
4 Add rest of coconut cream, sugar and chillies. Cook for 1-2 minutes
5 Add desired amount of salt
6. Serve with white rice.
