Pars Supermarket is a convenience store with a Persian influence. I like that. It's a little like visiting a Deli in Iran. They stock a reasonable frange of Persian groceries and deli items.

City: Birmingham

They have a fine range of cheese on display. In addition they have a formidable selection of chutneys, preserves, spices, plus homemade fresh bagels and bread. Being a Sicilian deli they also make their own pastries, which can be gazed at through the window and are every bit as tasty as they appear. If you like to spend money on quality food, then you'll be happy here. Food from the Far East Middle East, and Europe are all on offer. In the chilled cabinet are cooked meats and cheeses. At the counter you can buy Iranian sweets and a box of cigarettes. Nima is traditional, exotic and friendly.

Al Barakah's is family-run; all the staff are always welcoming, and make sure you're very happy with their service. Great bread and takeaway.

Thisis one of the few places in London where you can find freekeh, a roasted young green wheat. A range of products from all over the Mediterranean feature on the shelves, from Lebanon, Greece, Turkey and Italy. A friendly family-run institution, Suroor is the place to seek out authentic Iraqi ingredients. An impressive collection of fruit, herb and flower waters includes the rare ‘seven herbs’, as well as jasmine and bitter orange. It can be a bit difficult to get to, but it’s worth the trip for other essential Iraqi products such as dried barberries (used as a spice) and dried lime powder.
