Very authentic and delicious. Reasonably priced for foods. Wide variety of traditional dishes. In regards to food, flavor and price, this is about as good as it gets for eating something out of the ordinary. Try the Rijsttafel - Dutch for "rice table" is a tradition imported from the Dutch colonies in Indonesia.
Delicious perogis and you can mix the kinds (Ipotato/cheese and mushroom/sauerkraut!) Service is super quick. Never a wait, quick service, cute atmosphere, and TONS of bang for your buck. Plan on being full for days. Everything is delicious, so get the big plate with everything. Not a lot of space, but in true fashion, food is delicious, cheap, homemade, and comes out quick! MENU
A nice place to chill also, not to mention that NYU students get a discount too! The place is a hybrid between restaurant and coffee shop. The coffee is surprisingly top notch and the food is pretty solid. The space is very large with 8 tables in front with additional bar stool seating in the windows for ample coffee shop space, but the restaurant also extends into the back with innumerable tables. Excellent coffee and food options. Try the chicken fried rice and the beef rendang. MENU
Great Uzbek cuisine in unpretentious, but clean and decent surroundings. Try they soups (the portions are big) and plov. The food is delicious and the portions are very reasonable. The price is excellent and the service is good as well. Their kebabs are very flavorful and never overcooked. The salads are fresh and delicious. MENU
Old Registan is a gem of a place tucked away in Borough Park Brooklyn, the food is homemade Uzbe/ Russian cuisine I. A truly unique combination of spices, flavors and meats. Lamb, chicken and beef dominate the menu. Their bread and Samsa are baked in an authentic Uzbek Tandoor oven and are also amazing.
